The maintenance of fire systems will be carried out strictly in accordance with relevant Australia Standards. The size of our business give us the ability to provide more personalized service, hence in the event of emergency, we will be able to provide rapid response to our clients.

For those people who are responsible for work places, the requirement for maintenance of essential services is very strict. This includes the responsibility of maintaining equipment to the relevant standard, keeping maintenance records, and completing necessary compliance reports.
RFD's routine maintenance programme ensures that your fire equipment and systems are regularly tested, serviced and maintained in accordance with Australian Standards.
Fire extinguishers need to be serviced on six monthly frequency. There are other higher routines to be carried out for e.g. 5 yearly pressure test and recharge. Foam Extinguishers need to be recharged once every 12 months.
Fire Blankets need to be serviced once every six months.
Hose reels need to be inspected once every six months.
Fire Hydrants need to be tested every six months. However, once a year it requires flow test to be carried out. On 5 yearly basis, Hydrostatic test is to be carried out to ensure the strength of hydrant piping is enough to hold the prescribed water pressure.
Sprinkler systems need to be tested on weekly or monthly basis depending upon their elegibility. However more extensive test is carried out on six monthly and annual basis. Sprinkler valves need to be overhauled once every 3 years.
Whether it is a hydrant or sprinkler pump, all electric pump must be tested on monthly basis followed by more detailed testing on six monthly and annual basis. Pump overhaul is required to be carried out on 5 yearly basis.
Whether it is a hydrant or sprinkler pump, all diesel pump must be test on at least monthly or weekly basis depending on their eligibility. More detailed tests are carried out on six monthly and annual basis (including pump service). Pump overhaul is required to be carried out on 5 yearly basis.
Fire Detection System
Fire Detection system is required to be tested on monthly basis. More detailed testing is carried out on six monthly and annual basis. On annual basis, a separate test is carried out on 50% of the smoke and 20% of thermal detectors.
EWIS (Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System)
Emergency Warning and Intercommunication System (EWIS) is tested on monthly basis. A more detailed testing is carried out on six monthly and annual basis.
Emergency and exit lights are tested on six monthly basis. A full function test of 90 minutes is carried out in which power supply to each light is disconnected and their performance is observed for 90 minutes. Any light that do not illuminate for 90 minutes on battery is deemed to fail the test. Necessary rectification is to be carried out in order to meet the compliance requirement.
Common Area Fire Doors need to be tested on quarterly basis and fire doors to residential apartment need to be checked once every 12 months. The purpose of this test is to ensure that the gap between the door leaf and the frame has not exceeded the prescribed allowable gap. There are other checks carried out such as integrity of door hardware, door tags, etc.
